Code of Ethics
Be safe. We aim to make the space industry a safer place in terms of all types of harassment. The space industry is a novel place where we want to advance the efforts of humanity beyond our singular planet. That involves addressing major issues (such as the repeated harassment of women and minorities) that affect those efforts. We cannot make progress as an interstellar populace when such issues are still occurring on Earth.
Be inclusive. The space industry is a place for ALL people, regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity and/or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, disability, age or any other federal, state or local protected class. We are a spacefaring people and all are welcome.
Be an ally. The majority of people do not report harassment due to a lack of process or a lack of a support system. Even simply listening makes a difference.
Be respectful. Your decisions affect all of us. Your behaviour affects all of us. Hostile work environments are not innovative or productive to advancing humanity into outer space. Disparaging comments directed toward another person are not courteous. Threats or intimidation have no place. Discrimination needs to end. Harassment of any kind (along with the promotion of such harassment) is simply not acceptable.
See something, say something. Harassment continues to permeate the industry unbounded and will keep doing so until ALL of us endeavour to stop it. This is a joint effort and affects everyone whether or not it appears to do so.
